Newsletter - June - 2017...

I hope you are all enjoying the summer. On hot days it has been very pleasant visiting Ecclesall Woods.

Our spring events went well with bluebells coming into full bloom at just the right time for our activities. Some bluebells were flowering in March making us anxious that they would be over too soon and we were almost relieved to have a cold snap to slow down the flowering.

The bluebells were in full bloom when filmed for Look North. Unfortunately we were only mentioned as an ancient Sheffield woodland.

This tawny owl was found in wood 2. It had just fledged its nest and was photographed by Ranger Tom in May.
